National Women's Soccer league is a women’s professional soccer league run by the United States Soccer Federation. The league consists of 14 teams.

  • History of NSWL
    • The NSWL, established in 2012 was actually the third attempt to set up a professional women’s soccer league in the US. (They succeeded the Women’s United Soccer Association, 2000-2003 and the Women’s Professional Soccer, 2007-2012)
    • The Houston Dash joined the NSWL at the end of 2013.
  • Growth of NSWL
    • After the USWNT won the 2015 Women’s World Cup, hosted in Canada, attendance and interest in the league soared.
    • The success of the USWNT has been pivotal in the growth of the league. They have won:
      • FIFA Women's World Cup: 4 titles (1991, 1999, 2015, 2019) - more than any other nation .
      • Olympic Gold Medals: 5 gold medals (1996, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2024) - more than any other nation .
      • Total Major Championships: 9 world championships (4 World Cups + 5 Olympics). The rest of the world combined has 8 .
      • Record Streak: The USWNT held the #1 spot in FIFA rankings for 13 consecutive years
  • Houston Dash and the USWNT
    • Three Houston Dash players will join the USWNT for upcoming games
