Activities

Station # 1

Goalie Reaction Time

Students will use colored reaction sticks, catching reaction time sticks & BlazePod sensors to improve their reaction time.

Station # 2

Measurements

Students will compare their height to wingspan, measuring vertical jump, broad jump, complete shuffle run, and measure their grip strength.

Station # 3

Hockey Uniform & Equipment Design

Students will complete a worksheet-based activity focused on designing their own hockey gear, uniform, and stretching/injury prevention activities.

Station # 4

STEM Hockey Trivia

Students will take a STEM Replay quiz from a San Jose Sharks Game on a tablet or phone.

Station # 5

Coding

Students will explore programming concepts using Sphero robots.

Station # 6

Exploring Hockey Shot Types

Students will try various hockey shooting methods trying to shoot a goal.

Station # 7

Friction Experiment

Students will compete in a shuffle board style friction game with different types of pucks gliding on tile surface & will play the numbers game with math equations.

Station # 8

Hockey Shooting Accuracy

Students will shoot at targets on a hockey goal and calculate their shooting percentage = number of shots made/number of shots attempted x 100.

Station # 9

Passing, Angles & Trajectory in Hockey

Students will compete in a knee hockey game and also work on their launch angle using stomp rockets.

Station # 10

Financial Literacy in Hockey

Students will learn about financial literacy in hockey.
